Teaching is a personal thing; a part of yourself gets planted in every lesson, stamped on every test, and passed to every student. The personal nature of teaching can make many of us fear evaluation of our skill and methods. But growth as people, friends and teachers usually comes from the sometimes hard lessons and uneasy truths. These evaluations were done by my GVSU field coordinator and my cooperating teacher during my student teaching. While I think these evaluations show that I’m a good teacher with great potential, they will not paint the picture of a perfect teacher. As a life long learner I embrace my fallibility and foibles as part of the human experience, and as things I will continue to improve on as I fulfill that great potential.
